Unifying a Regulated Genomics Platform: The Radiance Design System

I started as the lead interaction designer on Radiance and eventually became the product owner. 359 components, 152 styles, two libraries, 17 products. Now in its 6th major release since 2021.

Overview

Built Radiance from the ground up across both libraries, then took over as product owner. Now I run the backlog, govern adoption, and make the architectural calls that keep it working across 17 products in a regulated genomics environment. Also design lead on the instrument control software vertical.

Story 1 β€” System Architecture Map: A clean diagram showing the 13 software products + 4 instrument platforms as nodes, with two shared foundation layers (the cloud/on-prem software library and the instrument control software library) connecting them β€” tokens to primitives to components to patterns to templates. Abstract enough to respect IP, specific enough to communicate scale.
